About Oak Ridge
Oak Ridge was laid out in the 1940s as a planned city on a series of parallel ridges above the Clinch River, and it retains that unusual structure: neighborhoods stepped along ridge lines with large greenbelt buffers between them.
Today it's a research and technology employment center with a housing stock that runs from original 1940s cottages to modern custom builds, plus riverfront and lake-adjacent property along the Clinch and Melton Hill.
